When Saucer Nest first opened its doors, Frank and Willard spent weeks debating which donut should sit in the center of the display case. The answer turned out to be the simplest one. A light, airy raised donut finished with a sweet glaze. Nothing hidden behind toppings. Nothing to distract from the craft itself.
This recipe traces its roots back to the family donut shop run by Willard’s grandmother decades before Saucer Nest existed. It’s the donut that reminds us where we came from and why we started baking in the first place.
