Our story began with a UFO sighting
On the evening of February 13, 1981, friends Frank Mercer and Willard Halverson experienced something neither could explain. They were witnesses in the Great Oregon UFO Flap of 1981. A decade later, when Frank and Willard decided to open a donut shop, the UFO stories became its personality.
Today, Saucer Nest is still guided by the same simple ideas that inspired its founders: make great donuts from scratch, serve excellent coffee, stay curious and keep looking up. Inside the shop, you’ll find friendly conversation, photographs from decades of UFO investigations, and a collection of stories gathered from across the Pacific Northwest. Whether you’re here for a classic glazed, a cup of coffee or to share your own strange encounter, you’re always welcome at Saucer Nest.
